Filta Welcomes Mike Goodbourn to the team

The Filta Group, the global leader in fryer and cooking oil management services, this week, announced the acquisition of Grease Management Ltd. (GMG). UK-based GMG is the leading professional provider of grease/FOG management services across the UK with approximately 3,000 site visits annually. GMG was started in 1999 by Mike Goodbourn—affectionately known as The FOG Father—and has experienced steady growth since its inception.

As Urosevic referenced, Filta is pleased to welcome Mike Goodbourn, GMG Founder, to the Filta Group as he will continue to serve in a business development role with the company.

Overall, the acquisition is a natural one as Filta recently introduced a new drain service, FiltaDrain, and was seeking opportunities to further expand its drain management offerings. GMG presented the perfect opportunity for Filta to grow this segment of the business, with an outstanding reputation in the marketplace and extensive customer base. In fact, Filta and GMG—already operating in a similar space—have a number of common customers who will immediately benefit from a one shop approach across the two companies. And, just as exciting, is the opportunity to cross sell each company’s respective customer base with a full spectrum of services.

Filta will now offer the design and installation of complete grease management solutions that include grease traps, grease recovery units, and bacterial drain dosing under the newly created brand, FiltaGMG. These systems help prevent fats, oils, and grease, commonly known as FOG, from clogging drains and harming the environment and are primarily utilized by commercial groups, restaurant chains, and independently owned operations.
